NIH/NIDA – New Voice and Data Systems

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) was relocating to the new National Institutes of Health (NIH) Biomedical Research Center (BRC) on the Bayview campus of Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions in Baltimore, MD, and seized the opportunity to upgrade their voice and data network systems and infrastructures. NIDA retained speXsys to conduct a requirements analysis, create a basis for design, create the necessary bid packages, manage the bidding process, and oversee the installation of the systems. SpeXsys designed and oversaw the successful implementation of a $1.9M converged voice and data Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) system with more than 1,000 end points servicing NIDA personnel in the BRC, as well as 3 other remote NIDA locations.
